A Home in the Heart of Exeter
At Oak House Exeter we offer a special resource for those living with dementia or other neurodiverse conditions. We provide a program of positive stimulation within a secure, caring and intimate home setting.
Our core principle of care is an empathetic, psychosocial approach that mirrors, as far as possible, the environment of the resident's own home.
At Oak House we have a dedicated activities organiser who engages our residents in both familiar and new interests that encourage both physical and social stimulation. Every week we welcome visiting professionals offering physical exercise sessions, group and one-to-one reminiscence sessions, musical entertainment and weekly hairdressing services.
Oak House is a spacious, detached, Grade 2 listed Georgian house with a large enclosed, mature rear garden in St Leonard's Road, Exeter.
There are twenty-four bedrooms which are tastefully decorated to accentuate the 'home from home' atmosphere. Residents are encouraged to bring personal items to maintain the vital link with their own home.
